Top 11 Photographers in Austin

Picking from the TOP PHOTOGRAPHERS IN AUSTIN for your wedding photos can be difficult since there are so many unique styles and aesthetics in photography. Austin really does have many lovely photographers, and some are even known worldwide. Capturing the beauty of your wedding to look back on years from now is truly a nostalgic feeling that I think everyone should be able to experience, and there are so many photographers in Austin that can portray that. This is a fun time to look through these gorgeous photographs and discover ones that suit your fancy while filling you with dopamine. Looking for pictures that bring you feelings of enthusiasm and comfort all at once is the best way to choose the one for you. The photographer you choose will preserve the nature of how you want your wedding to look. Make sure you think about the themes, styles, and emotions you want your wedding photos to convey, and I guarantee you’ll find the perfect photographer in Austin that meets all of your requirements and beyond.

Here’s a tip: instead of focusing completely on money, put your aim into what type of pictures you want your kids, or maybe even grandchildren, to see when looking back at what their loved ones looked like on one of the happiest days of their life. Now, I’m not saying that you should go into years worth of debt for the photographer you choose, but I do recommend investing into the one that you know will make you smile with reminiscence in the far future.

Another important thing to look at is personality. Picture this, you have everything ready for your dream wedding, your gown or suit has been chosen, the venue’s just perfect, and everything is going just as planned. You check your watch and realize that it’s time to consult your photographer about what you want. You start emailing or texting back and forth, and you come to the conclusion that you don’t get along at all. You might think it doesn’t matter so long as you get those perfect pictures you’ve been wanting, but once your big day comes and you’re both in a bad mood, you’ll very much regret that decision. Personality might not seem important, but to get the pictures you’ve really been wanting, you need to have good communication and get along with your photographer. You need a photographer who’s able to know exactly what you and your significant other want: well thought out planning and clear communication. Getting along with your photographer may also lead you to become a returning customer if they do family, pregnancy, or graduation photos, as well as weddings.

Something else to think about is whether you want your photos to be in film, digital, or both. While all of the photographers on here do digital pictures, we also have photographers that do film. Really think about how you want to look back at your wedding photos when you’re old and grey. Do you wish to have wedding photos that bring feelings of tenderness, elegance, and nostalgia? Or, would you prefer pictures that fill you with passion, legacy, and story-driven imagery? Maybe, you want all of those feelings combined into a gorgeous aroma of love and chaos. Digital and film photography both have their own feelings and tone with each medium. Just something to think about.

All brides have different tastes, goals, preferences, and styles. Really think about what you want your wedding to look like, and what you want other people to see when they look at those amazing photographs taken by your charming photographer. There are so many wonderful photographers to come across in Austin making it the perfect spot for your wedding. Some wedding photographers in this area include Beth Turner Photo, Colette Elyse Photography, Matthew Chambers Photography, Naomi Phelps Photography, Kelly Costello Photography, Julia Bonugli Photo, Bonnie Burke Weddings, Kelsey Applebaum Photography, Isabella Macias Photography, Macy Hartman, and Katherine Larson Photography. They all have stunning work to look through and you might just find your perfect pick to take the wedding pics of your dreams. Remember to look for someone whose photos suite your aesthetic and overall vibe of your dream wedding. All right, time for you to look down below to find the one who rocks your socks and that’ll knock your boots off.

We have a special place in my heart for this venue because it just has this charm and is a hidden gem in Denton, TX. The Little Chapel in the Woods has these beautiful stained glass windows inside the chapel, wooden pews that bring in warm to the ceremonies, and intimate bride and groom suites. Just a heads up that the bride suite doesn’t have a bathroom, but the groom’s suite does. The garden area outside the chapel is absolutely amazing, and we think this is the biggest advantage, besides the price, of this venue. No other venue in Denton TX offers as many options for outdoor photo ops as the Little Chapel in the Woods does. The lush green trees, the cool old greenhouse, the small road that is great for walking shots of the wedding party, the flowers, it’s a lot. A LOT! The Brownlow House in Denton TX is such a cool venue in downtown! You immediately feel the warm and calmness walking into this venue. Each room, each corner of this house has it’s own vibe, but all work together to make an incredible experience that couples rave about. We have actually been to a couple of weddings here and they have all been done so well and the families have loved this place! 4. Bella Cavalli

Bella Cavalli in Aubrey, TX is an unbelievably beautiful venue with acres upon acres of lush land, a barn/warehouse reception and ceremony building with large garage door windows, ponds, and freaking llamas. Yes, they have llamas, camels, donkeys and other animals that you can add on to any packages. No other venue in Denton, or even North Texas, has this option. It is a blast. This venue has been really smart with their layout because the bridal suite is in the main building and hidden away, and the groom’s suite is in a farmhouse that Magnolia (sorry Chip and Joanna) would be jealous of. White walls, indoor and outdoor ceremony possibilities and very well manicured landscaping makes it near impossible to get bad photos at this spot. There is also alot of room for larger weddings, with a max capacity of 200 guest indoors, and more outdoors. Worth just taking a tour and petting a llama or two. Check it out!

Details:

  • 200 guests capacity
  • Stunning 100+ acre manicured landscape
  • Tons of natural light with white walls to make any photo ready to be shown in a magazine
  • In-house catering
  • Inside or outside ceremony
  • Outside vendors welcomed
  • Freaking llamas, donkeys and other farm animals
  • Great groom and bridal suites
  • Family owned
  • Overnight stay options
  • Stocked ponds for some great fishing

If you want Great Gatsby, downtown Manhattan vibes, you absolutely have to book with them. You feel extra cool riding up the elevator that opens up directly to this venue. 6. Ashton Gardens Corinth

Ashton Garden Corinth has been a staple wedding venue in Denton TX for awhile now, and it makes sense, because this venue has a lot to offer for brides who want either a modern or classic wedding style. This venue has TONS of natural light flooding into the ceremony site and reception hall. Bridal suite is a little on the smaller side but has decent lighting and cool vanity mirrors. The groom’s room is small and not windows (typical in most venues). The space can hold up to 300, which is a great capacity and it doesn’t feel too big for smaller crowds either. Great dance floor! They also have all inclusive packages for brides that don’t want to shop around. However, it might cost to bring in outside vendors. This is a fantastic option and looks great all times of year.

7. The Milestone Aubrey/Denton

The Milestone in Denton and Aubrey are fantastic options for brides who want a venue with a blank canvas for decorations at the reception area, but also can leave as-is for a classic look and can seat up to 300 guests. This looks like a giant white mansion with perfectly mowed lawns, a cool fountain in the middle of the circle front driveway and just looks fancy and classy. The bridal suites are very spacious with amazing light for beautiful getting ready shots. The grooms room doesn’t have a window, but has a pool table AND arcade ( I think NBA Jam). The ceremony space is nice but only back lit with ceiling to wall windows behind the couple so it looks nice but can be a bit dim inside. All inclusive packages, but you can have outside vendors with a possible fee. The photos from the venue are always stunning looking, and the tall white walls definitely help inside the lobby area and giant staircase. This really is a beautiful venue for inside and outside photos anytime of the year. Reception are looks great with large and smaller crowds and acoustics are fantastic. Get option for sure for most brides.

8. The Wildwood Inn

So this has to be one of our favorites in Denton because of the price, options for brides and families for staying, and the aesthetic. The Wildwood Inn in Denton TX is this magical place that is hidden in mid-southern Denton and offers so much. First of all, THE LOOK! This place looks so good in winter and summer and fall and spring and whenever. The front of the building has this nice driveway where couples take photos of them walking and posing and it usually has a lot of shade in that area and just look classy with the facade in the background. The backyard area is smaller but you don’t necessarily notice it, even with a pool taking up some of the space. The ceremony space is really pretty outside with the hanging lights and gazebo over the alter with trees behind it. The place has some beautiful rooms to stay in and the bride’s room looks nice for photos. Groom’s room has a cool poker table and is actually larger than the brides, but not the lighting is dimmer. This is more of a wedding venue for brides that want a more intimate, romantic feel that just has this magical look to it. It’s hard to explain unless you just visit it. Friendly staff and all inclusive options as well.

Details:

  • 100 guests capacity
  • Outdoor and indoor ceremony options
  • All inclusive packages
  • Magical, romantic feel
  • Great overnight stay options for family and friends traveling (rare)
  • A lot of greenery
  • Shaded areas outside
  • Dance floor is smaller but makes the 100 guests feel like a fun crowd in a good way

9. Monroe Pearson

This venue has a fun urban style with textured, exposed brick walls and a stunning reception area that is gigantic. This venue is right in the middle of downtown Denton, but has plenty of free parking around the venue. I love this venue because it has such a unique overall style that other venues in Denton don’t have. Also, the bride’s and groom’s suites look great, with the bride’s room being right in front of the ceremony area so that she can just step out and walk right down the aisle (very convenient). We highly recommend this spot for brides that just want something contemporary and with a bit of edge to it. Also, this place can seat up to 350 guests, which is one of the largest in Denton, besides The Olana. Great spot and just a fun venue for guests to experience.

Details:

  • 350 guests capacity
  • Indoor ceremony
  • Contemporary style and exposed texture walls for an urban vibe
  • Middle of downtown Denton
  • Huge reception area
  • Nice bride and groom suites
  • Great staff

The Olana is one of the pretty wedding venues you will ever visit in Texas, if not the whole USA. This place would put a Disney movie to shame with it’s grandiose exterior and interior, bowling alley, Channel inspired bridal suite and exquisite landscaping that is fit for royalty. It will cost to get married here, but that is pretty obvious when you drive up the long runway and see the mansion that happens to be a wedding venue. This place also has an interesting history that you can find HERE. Now, this place absolutely amazing! It can hold up to 400 guests, all inclusive services and even has a movie theater. Yes, it has everything and more. Oh yeah, it has a basketball court too inside. This is one of those places that you will end up talking about your entire life if you are honored enough to have an event there or be invited to one. Just tour it and see if you don’t say “Whoa!” more than 10x. This is THE wedding venue!
